Hello world!
I started to write something and didn’t get back to it til today.
I just wanted to break the ice and say “Hello!.
I will be writing about arts and crafts and other things that interests me and hopefully others will enjoy my posts.
I spent the day searching for the right pumpkin to carve up for the big night! It has to be at least 10 inches round so I can carve out the facial features and of,course, scoop out the guts.
Most people don’t do anyhting with the guts but I like to wash off the orange slimy ,string bits and take out the seeds to roast. The seeds need to be washed and dried before placing on a lightly coated cookie pan. Set the oven temperature to 350 degrees and back about 20 or so minutes, just enough to dry them out but not enough to burn them. You may want to salt them before going in.
After 15 minutes they are good to eat. Crack open the shells with your teeth or finger nails and eat the soft seed inside.
I used to do this with my students every year. It was something they really looked forward to. See, pumpkins are good for more than throwing at peoples’ houses!
