It’s been a well-known secret for about 5 years now, that there are women paying hundreds to thousands of dollars for “fake” babies. Yes, there are one of a kind or “reborn” babies and fashion dolls. You can go on Google and see over 35,000 listings under reborn dolls or EBay, which is listing nearly 3,000 as of today.

The process of making a reborn baby is quite time-consuming and can be expensive. If you become good at re-borning these baby dolls, then you’ll reap the rewards. If you don’t then it is an expensive hobby.

Women buy new or used baby dolls with soft plastic skin and have to clean them, remove the old face paint and repaint them with special heat -resistant paint. They will be “baked” in the oven to set the facial paint. The hair cannot be glued on; a wig will not fetch the big money buyer.
