It’s all in the basket ; a gift basket that is.

O.k . ,I’m not feeling very inspired today. It’s cold, dark and rainy; just the right ingredients for a creative mind.

Yes, I’m being sarcastic and the weather is all to blame.

I think that since it’s coming down to the wire and the budget is very tight this year,I will be putting together some gift baskets. I already have some baskets from past gifts and some I’ve found at thrift stores and garage sales.

If you  have to buy baskets , then shop at a local thrift or second hand store. Better yet, go to Goodwill, St.Vincent de Paul or some other charity based organization.

You can give twice by doing this.

The dollar store has many small items ,especially this time of year to fill a basket. And don’t think this idea is just for the ladies. Men appreciate gift baskets also.Fill them with aftershave,cologne,soaps,or tools,calculators and any to her items that may interest him.

Kids like small toys and gadgets and women may like cookie cutters,gloves or tools,like me.

Just remember to personalize it to the person.  Find an old ribbon or bow from last years packages. Cellophane wrap is expensive so use gift wrap paper instead.

So when in doubt,put it in a gift basket.
