Have a gourd day;decorate gourds for Christmas.

I was watching a local program last night about Kentucky Christmas crafts ideas and they featured a gourd artist. Yes, there is such a thing and there are also gourd artists groups and international gourd artists. I never knew that!

Anyway, I’ve been researching different ways to decorate and make Christmas gifts this year since money is tight and I think that decorating gourds is a wonderful way to decorate the tree. You can buy dried gourds in most rural locations or some produce departments or even some crafts stores.

If you want to give a carved and painted gourd gift this year, there are many to choose from. Research the internet and you may find some artist group nearby.

These craftspeople are the original recyclers. A lot of these artists and craftspeople grew up poor in the country and learned to recycle everything.

We could learn something from their creativeness and thrifty nature. Check out the gourds. Have a gourd day!
